Everyone joined in the Christmas spirit at Perdido School, with each classroom participating in the annual door decorating contest. The school’s PTO sponsors this event, with first place receiving $50 to use in their classroom.

This year’s first place winner was Mrs. Jill Jones’ fifth-grade class. The students all took pictures of themselves, placed those photos into a homemade snow globe and then placed their individual globes into the large one. A festive snowman completed the display.

Second place went to Mrs. April Lamb’s second-graders. After enjoying the story, Snowmen at Night, the students created individual snowmen at night and combined them to create their festive door. Their class received $25.

Fourth-graders in Mrs. Jaynie Hadley’s class received third place and a prize of $15 for their unique door decoration, Footprints in the Snow.  Each child took their own footprint in snow (white paint), and combined with the whole class there are “footprints in the snow” on their door.
