René Bunch has a heart for the military. She’s a veteran and her son is serving in the Army, stationed Fort Campbell, Kentucky.
Bunch is part of Military Parents Operation Support, a closed group of military parents around the United States “offering their heart to help Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines, Coast Guard and National Guard.”
MPOS sends care packagers to those in deployed locations who are not receiving mail for whatever reason, and those who are far from home “needing a little love, encouragement, prayers and support.”
Bunch is the local contact for MPOS.
“It is a blessing to be able to take care of our deployed troops in this small manner, especially here with the holidays approaching,” she said. “So many without families so they don’t get mail. And yet, they still accept the burden of protecting our country. I salute these brave troops, wherever they may go, and pray for them that they will come home whole in mind, body, and spirit.”
In November, Bunch and Santa (her brother-in-law Phil Mack) delivered packages to the post office to be mailed out.
If you would like to donate items to be included in a care package, you may send a private message on the MPOS Facebook page or contact Bunch at 251-359-4039.
Monetary donations are also appreciated to help pay for shipping or shopping for items if you are unable to shop.
