Giving out masks
The Yellow Hat Society, with help from Bub Gideons, met at the Masland entrance Monday, May 4, to pass out masks. They gathered at 2:30 in order to get one shift leaving and the next one coming in. FNB&T helps Ernie help kids
First National Bank & Trust made a donation to Ernie Digmon, shown, to help with his weekly feeding program for kids which he started in April. With help from volunteers who pack and distribute lunches, Digmon serves as many as 300 meals every Friday at the Farmers Market next to city hall.

Ms. Voncile’s birthday
The caravan assembled Friday afternoon, May 1, a little before 4, then headed to Ridgeley Street to celebrate Voncile Stallworth’s birthday with a drive-by party. Her birthday had already passed so it was a belated celebration. She and others with her in her front yard practiced social distancing and wore their masks.
