Bishop Bernard Bishop is making an impassioned plea for folks to attend a community meeting Monday, July 7, 6 p.m., at Atmore City Hall.
“If you’re concerned about violence in our city, please come,” he said. Come give your input or just listen, but please be there. “
Bishop has met with Atmore city leaders, law enforcement, pastors, and others, and now he is asking for the community to come together and combat the problem.
“This is not just talk,” he said. “It’s time to do more than just pray and talk. It’s time to put some things into action.”
Bishop is also asking the younger generation – especially high school students – to attend.
He stressed that all are affected by gun violence in the city – the victims, the victimizers, the innocent bystanders.
“Come to hear the cry of the heart of the city,” he said.
