Atmore police are investigating the second homicide within the city over the past five days after an early morning (Monday, August 7) home invasion left a Broad Street resident dead and his wife or female partner in critical condition. Two shot at Broad Street residence in Atmore
Details remained sketchy at 4 a.m. Monday (Aug. 7) but two people were reportedly shot inside a Broad Street residence about an hour earlier. Police identify homicide victim as Camden man
Atmore Police Chief Chuck Brooks has identified the victim of Thursday’s night shooting on Ann Street as a Wilcox County man who was apparently minding his own business. According to a press release issued Friday afternoon by the police chief, the man who was shot as he bicycled to a convenience store for cigarettes and later died from his wounds was Shawn Oneil Quarles, 31, of Camden.
