Judge G. Lloyd

Mr. Judge G. Lloyd, age 78, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Monday, June 8, 2020 in Atmore. He was born in Frisco City, Ala. to the late John and Issie Lloyd. He was a retired foreman of Scott Paper Company/Kimberly Clark with over thirty-seven years of service. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and woodworking.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Bessie, Charlie Mae, Luverne, Mable and one brother Ray.

Mr. Lloyd is survived by his wife, Barbara Robinson Lloyd of Atmore; one son, Steven (Tonya) Lloyd of Walnut Hill, Fla.; three daughters, Melanie (Jamerson) Nelson of Excel, Ala.; Shala Stearns (Matthew Canning) of Atlanta, Ga. and Michelle Wright of Atmore; two sisters, Sally Weatherford of Frisco City, Ala. and Louise (Jimmy) Robards of Pensacola, Fla.; four grandchildren, Judd, Kaina, Kaitlin and Hunter.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, June 11, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Huxford Community of Christ Cemetery with Minister Beth Linam officiating.

The family will receive friends Thursday, June 11, 2020 from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.

John Adams

Mr. John Adams, of Century, Fla., passed away Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at his residence.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time but will be announced by Turner Funeral Chapel.

Ms. Earlene Jacobs, age 94, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Thursday, June 11, 2020 at Atmore Nursing Care Center.

Bobbie Louise Hayles Caraway

Mrs. Bobbie Louise Hayles Caraway, age 86, a native of Lottie, Ala. and a resident of McCullough, Ala. passed away Wednesday, June 10, 2020. After marrying she and her husband moved to Mobile and then to McCullough and started farming. She was a housewife and a member of the Eastern Star. She also kept farm books and helped on the farm as needed. Louise and Henderson never had any children, so they enjoyed all their nieces and nephews. They all loved their Aunt Louise and Uncle Henderson. Louise was known as mother of McCullough.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Levi (Bud) and Ethel Olene Jones Hayles; brothers, Wilton Ray Hayles and William Wayne Hayles; husband, Charles Henderson Caraway.

Mrs. Caraway is survived by one sister, Margaret Eloise Hayles Steele.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 13, 2020 at 10 a.m. from the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jeremy Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Judson Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Saturday, June 13, 2020 at 9:30 a.m. until 10 a.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.

Charles Edward Thompson, Sr.

Mr. Charles Edward Thompson, Sr., age 72, passed away Friday, June 12, 2020 at his home in Flomaton, Ala.He was a native of Atmore, Ala. and had resided in Flomaton most of his life. He was a retired operator with Vanity Fair with thirty-three years of service; caretaker of Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery with over sixteen years of service; an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish. He was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Tina Thompson Hall; parents, grandparents and brother, Bobby Thompson.

Mr. Thompson is survived by his two sons, Charles “Little Charles” (Melissa) Thompson, Jr. of Century, Fla and Christopher Lee (Megan) Thompson of Flomaton; one step-son, Lester Fox of Bratt, Fla.; one step-daughter, Maria Fox of Bratt; two sisters, Gracie (Glendall) Pridgen and Pam (Melvin) Johnson, all of Flomaton; eleven grandchildren, Shane, Chasity, Nick, Ethan, Zack, Chris, Eli, Jacob, Jonathan, Halana and Carlton and ten great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Earle Green officiating. Burial will follow at the Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday, June 15, 2020 from 6 -8 p.m.at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Ethan Hall, Shane Thompson, Bubba Pridgen, Jeremy Pridgen, Chris Fowler, Greg Odom.

Yvonne Savage Bradley

Mrs. Yvonne Savage Bradley, age 67, of Cantonment, Fla., formerly of Walnut Hill, Fla., passed away at her home Saturday, June 13, 2020.A native of Tarboro, N.C. She had worked at the grain elevator in Walnut Hill and as a substitute teacher for The Escambia County (AL) Board of Education. She was a faithful member of Gaines Chapel AME Church – Atmore where she was a Sunday school teacher and Women’s Day Coordinator. She was active in various positions at Gaines Chapel. She loved children and she motivated them to be the best they can be. She loved her family and enjoyed family gatherings.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin L. Bradley and her parents, Ernest and Bessie Savage; two brothers, Homer Savage and Dennis L. Savage.

Mrs. Bradley is survived by two sons, Rodney (Desiree) Bradley of Mobile, Ala. and Patrick Bradley of Cantonment, Fla.; four sisters, Kattie (George) Cherry, Erma (Dewey) Revis, Bessie (Stanley) all of Rocky Mount, N.C. and Myrian D. Savage of Pinetops, N.C.; three  brothers, Rufus Savage of Rocky Mount, Ernest (Wanda) Savage, and Vernon (Vickie) Savage; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services with social distance and face mask required will be held Friday, June 19, 2020 at noon at New Birth Baptist Church, 1610 Ave Q, Pensacola, Fla. with Rev. Floyd Peacock, Gracious Host and Rev. Cleitus Walker, Sr., eulogist. Interment will follow at 2 p.m. in Barrancas National Cemetery at NAS Pensacola, Fla.

Public viewing will be held Thursday, June 18, 2020 from 2 – 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

Ernest Jerry Hall

Mr. Ernest Jerry Hall, age 86, of McDavid, Fla., passed away Friday, June 12, 2020. He was the only son of Ernest and Velor Hall (Davis) of Oak Grove, Fla.  His life was one of adventures and world travel.  He proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1952 to 1955 as a Paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division. He was a farmer, cattleman and a Merchant Marine Chief Engineer on various vessels sailing the world over.  

He was preceded in death by his wife, Judith Hall Robbins of Walnut Hill, Fla.; one son, Alfred Bruce Hall of Oak Grove and three sisters, Martez Rutherford of Pensacola, Fla. Julia Johnson of Oak Grove and Betty Wells of Bratt.

​Mr. Hall leaves behind a sister, Jackie Brown of Bratt, Fla.; mother of his children, Mildred Marie Hadley Hall of Perdido, Ala.; a son, Mark Hall (Debra) of Oak Grove; nine grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.​

Mr. Hall will be laid to rest with a Private Service at the Godwin Cemetery in Bratt, Fla.

Ella Mae Knight

Ms. Ella Mae Knight, age 105, of Atmore (Freemanville Community), Ala., passed away Monday, June 15, 2020 at Atmore Nursing Care Center.

Funeral service with social distance will be held Saturday, June 20, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Mt. Gillead Baptist Church (Freemanville Community). Retirement of her remains will be in Pierce Rabb Cemetery.

Mr. John Lee, age 62, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Sunday, June 7, 2020.

Graveside funeral service will be held Saturday, June 20, 20 at 11 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery.

Diane Linda Lilley

Mrs. Diane Linda Lilley, age 65, passed away Monday, June 15, 2020 in Mobile, Ala. She was a native of Frisco City, Ala. and had resided in Goodway, Ala. for the past forty-five years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend and homemaker. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her mother and step-father, Mary Lou and James Dannelley; father, Farrell Bowen; son, Donnie Ray Lilley; brother, Donnie Farrell Bowen and niece, Kimberly Wall Lofton.
Mrs. Lilley is survived by her husband of forty-five years, Raymond L. Lilley of Goodway; one son, Rusty (Shawn) Lilley of Rocky Hill, Ala.; three brothers, Wayne (Maxine) Bowen of Bay Minette, Ala., Terry Michael (Freddie) Bowen of Megargel, Ala. and Carl (Susan) Bowen of Atmore, Ala.; one sister, Rosemary Wall of Atmore; three grandchildren, Logen (Hanna) Lilley, Madison Lilley and Breanna Lilley and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 18, 2020 at 10 a.m. at Enon Baptist Church with Bro. Pete Dunn officiating. Burial will follow at Enon Baptist Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday, June 18, 2020 from 9 a.m. until service time at 10 a.m. at Enon Baptist Church.
