Digmon seeks mayor’s seat

Digmon

Note: The following announcement was submitted by the candidate.

My name is Ernie Digmon, and I am announcing my candidacy for Mayor of Atmore.
My mother is Letty Digmon, a longtime resident of our town, and my father was Jimmy Digmon (deceased 1997). This is my hometown and I am proud of where I have come from. I graduated with honors from Escambia County High School in 1997. I am proud of the education I received here. I went on to further my education at Spring Hill College in Mobile, AL, where I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in History.
After college, I gained employment at the Escambia County Department of Human Resources as a Social Service Caseworker, handling child and adult abuse and neglect cases. I gained valuable knowledge of our region, and resources available to the citizens of our town.
Before returning to Atmore full time, I worked in aviation in Mobile at Brookley Field, for a company named Aerostar. I was supervisor of the component repair shop, and we won the Governor’s award for top shop in the state of Alabama the year before I returned to my hometown.
Through education, hard work, experience, and knowledge of our entire community, I feel as though I would make a high-quality candidate to lead our town into the future. Vision, energy, and ability are what I hope to bring to City Hall.
Through compassion and intelligence, I hope to lead. I appreciate your time to read my statement.
