Reid State graduation held

Compromise reached in cemetery road closure
Although the details remain under wraps, the city of Atmore and the owner of a local cemetery have apparently reached a compromise in an ongoing flap that began in 2000, eventually died down, then flared up again last year when the roadway that services the cemetery was effectively closed to traffic. Reader Leaders at Perdido School
Eighteen students in first through sixth grade were recognized at Perdido School’s Elementary Awards Day program. These students were the top Accelerated Reader (AR) point earners for their respective grade levels, while maintaining a minimum 85 percent overall comprehension rate on all quizzes taken throughout the school year.
Huber, Taylor on honors list
LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The University of West Alabama has announced the students named to the Dean’s List for the Spring 2017 academic semester. To be named to the Dean’s List, students must obtain at least a 3.25 grade point average while attempting at least 12 semester hours. Students from Atmore named to the UWA Dean’s List are Christopher Huber and Jordan Taylor.
