Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes collection set
This month, several locations in the multi-county Alabama Tri-County Area Team will serve as drop-off sites for the Samaritan’s Purse project, Operation Christmas Child – joining nearly 5,000 U.S. locations collecting gift-filled shoeboxes for children in need around the world. Atmore Area Christian Care Ministry Board of Directors honored the ministry’s volunteers with a banquet Thursday, October 19, hosted by First Baptist Church and the Rev. Arnold Hendrix. Welcome Center opens
Atmore’s Welcome Center held an open house Thursday, October 19. The center, located in the Peavy-Webb Building in Heritage Park, will be open Monday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and will be manned by Atmore Historical Society volunteers.
