Kattie Mae Barnhill
Mrs. Kattie Mae Barnhill, age 72, passed away Monday, December 11, 2017 in Atmore, Ala. She was a resident of Atmore; native of Stanley Crossroads, Ala. and lived most of her life in Davisville, Fla. She was a member of the Gospel Light Holiness Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Alice Buckhault; son, Alan Keith Barnhill; brothers, Jesse James Buckhault, Clinton Jim Buckhault and J.P. Jackson “Buddy” Buckhault; sisters, Rose Roberson, Louise Hadley Donaldson and Geraldine “Pettie” Booker and granddaughter, Summer Gattis.

Mrs. Barnhill is survived by her husband, Carl R. Barnhill of Atmore; two sons, Donald Barnhill of Atmore and Steve Barnhill of Gulf Breeze, Fla.; one daughter, Janet Kay (Gary) Gattis of Atmore; two sisters, Daisy Hendricks of Stanley Crossroads and Ouida (Raymond) Wall of Nokomis, Ala.; seventeen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Thursday, December 14, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Clarence Rolin officiating. Burial followed at Wild Fork Cemetery, Brewton, Ala.

The visitation was held Thursday, December 14, 2017 from 9 a.m. until service time at 10 a.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Wayne Coleman, Jerry Gehman, David Gehman, Deanna Macks, George Hendricks and Brandon Wall.

Honorary pallbearers were Phyllis Ward, Johnny Rolin, Ray Rolin, Keith Hadley, Pamela Rackard, Nancy Huggins Peters and the late Dale Gehman.

Danny Wayne Boyington
Mr. Danny Wayne Boyington, age 53, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Monday, December 11, 2017 in Atmore. He was a truck driver with Jetts Logging Company. He was born in Atmore to O’Neal and Imma Jean Hadley Boyington.

He was preceded in death by his father, O’Neal Boyington, sister, Racheal Reeve and a niece, Virginia Radford.

Mr. Boyington is survived by his wife, Belinda Caraway Boyington, of Atmore; mother, Imogene Boyington of Atmore; two daughters, Krystel (Pedro) Martinez of Poarch, Ala., Daniela Boyington of Atmore; three brothers, Rodney (Becky) Boyington of Perdido, Ala., Jimmy (Michelle) Boyington of Atmore, Mark (Britney) Boyington of Huxford, Ala., three sisters, Ester (Doug) Smith of Atmore, Linda (Dewayne) Salter Poarch and Lisa (Terry) Garrick of Birmingham, Ala.; four grandchildren, Taylor, Kyler, Tennesse, and Karter; many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Thursday, December 14, 2017 at 11 a.m. from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Sis, Helen Stewart officiating. Interment followed in Lottie New Home Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Jimmy Boyington, Mark Boyington, Ashley Salter, Joe Smith, Kevin Boyington and Dustin Boyington.

Honorary pallbearers were Taylor Boyington and Pedro Martinez.

Sally Foster
Mrs. Sally Foster, age 86, passed away Sunday, December 10, 2017 in Atmore, Ala. she was native of Bay Minette, Ala. and resided in Atmore.

Mrs. Foster is survived her nephew, Roy (Billie) Foster; special friend, Kelly White Downey and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Graveside services were held Friday, December 15, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Lottie Methodist Cemetery will Bro. Angelo Thomley officiating.

Jimmy Calloway Vinson
Mr. Jimmy Calloway Vinson, age 84, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Thursday, December 14, 2017, after an extended illness. He was born in Snowdoun, Ala. He attended high school at Sidney Lanier High School in Montgomery, Ala. where he was active in ROTC. He joined the U.S. Navy and became an aircraft airframe mechanic serving for four years in the Navy (1952-1956). He attended Alabama Polytechnic Institute (Auburn), then transferred to Troy State College, where he received his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in 1959, He was employed at Chemstrand Corporation in Cantonment, Fla., Vanity Fair in Atmore, United Bank of Atmore serving as a loan officer and branch manager for the Flomaton branch and Samco Products of Atmore as plant manager. After retiring he devoted his time to his family and managing the family farm in Robinsonville. He enjoyed hunting, particularly turkey, dove and quail hunting. He loved helping his parents-in-law, children, extended family, friends, and neighbors with building or repair projects. He participated in mission trips coordinated by the Escambia County Baptist Association to help repair Baptist churches damaged by hurricanes and storms in Jamaica and Hawaii. He was a founding member of Escambia Academy, and he worked with various Atmore civic clubs and organizations. He was active in Robinsonville Baptist Church for over 50 years, serving as song director, deacon, adult Sunday school teacher, and as a tenor in the choir.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Elizabeth Turner Vinson; his father, Marvin Marzette Vinson and Mary Maude Davis Vinson; his sister, Madge Vinson Lyons; his brothers Marvin Marzette Vinson, Jr. and John Houston Vinson.

Mr. Vinson is survived by one brother, William Kenneth Vinson; sister, Jeanette Vinson Lamberth; son, Richard Keith Vinson (Miriam); daughters, Lynn Vinson Raybon (Kevin) and Lori Vinson Nesmith; granddaughters, Jennifer Vinson Craft (Lee), Jessica Anne Nesmith, Caroline Vinson Eldridge (Caleb) and grandson, William Garrett Nesmith; great-granddaughter Mia Leigh Craft.

The funeral was held Monday, December 18, 2017 at noon at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home. Interment followed at Sardis Baptist Church cemetery in Wawbeek, Ala.

The family received friends Monday, December 18, 2017 from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m.

Walter Burl Hicks
Mr. Walter Burl Hicks, age 81, of Laurel, Miss., passed away Sunday, December 10, 2017 at his residence. He was born in Uriah, Ala to the late Clyde and Maggie Hicks. He had been employed as a Tug Boat Captain for fifty years with Warrior and Gulf Navigation and Finley’s Towing.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Fred Hicks, Hollis “Moses” Hicks, Houston Hicks and Sammie Hicks.

Mr. Hicks is survived by his wife, Marcella Hicks of Laurel; daughter, Nettie Hicks, Laurel; sons, Tate Hicks (Cynthia), Laurel and Jeff Fowler, Atlanta, Ga.; grandchildren, Haley Hicks and Layla Hicks; sisters, Mazie Burkett (Gene) and Irene Bryant, both of Atmore, Ala.; sister, Marylou Ridgeway, Bay Minette, Ala.; brothers, Johnny Hicks (Elaine) of Ovett, Miss. and Mack Hicks of Laurel along with a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Jesus Name Church of Ellisville with Bro. David Williams and Rev. Jerry Rowley, Jr. officiating. Burial followed in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Laurel.

Pallbearers were Vince Spradley, Mike King, Chris Holifield, Brent Dickerson, Ray Moore and Caleb Maddox.

Honorary pallbearers were Alvin Setliff and Braeden Maddox.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Jesus Name Church of Ellisville.

The family received friends Tuesday, December 12, 2017 from 5 until 9 p.m. at Jesus Name Church of Ellisville.

Beverly “Bev” June West
Mrs. Beverly “Bev” June West, age 92, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Friday, December 8, 2017 in Pensacola, Fla. She was born in the Eau Claire, Wis. area to the late Maurice and Helen Storlie. She was a 1942 graduate of Mondovi schools and then attended Eau Claire Teachers College for 1 year. While living in Eau Claire she was active at Ascension and Concordia churches and then a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Pensacola, Fla. She was a homemaker and mother to her two daughters and later worked at local clerical jobs. Her last job was volunteering through the Senior Aids program at Sacred Heart Hospital with the Lifeline program.

She was preceded in death by parents; husband, Arthur West; sisters, Elizabeth “Betty” Thompson, Susan Grubish; brothers, John “Jack” Storlie, Roger Storlie and Robert “Bob” Storlie.

Mrs. West is survived by Kathleen “Kathy” Belden and Karen O’Gorman (Loyal) Rongholt, all of Atmore and six grandchildren, Shawn (Erica) O’Gorman, Shane O’Gorman, Heather O’Gorman (Jason) Gardow, William (Janaya) Rongholt, Laura Rongholt (Paul) Haug, Terina Rongholt (Tom) Pavelski and thirteen great-grandchildren; her sister, Dona (Marv) Bunney and brother, Charles (Terri) Storlie.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Pensacola. A service at Concordia Lutheran Church and internment at Lake View Cemetery in Eau Claire will be determined at a later date.

Annie Pearl Bell
Mrs. Annie Pearl Bell, age 91, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at Atmore Nursing Care Center. She was a native of Georgiana, Ala. and a longtime resident of Atmore. She retired from First Baptist Church in Atmore where she served as housekeeper many years. She was a member of Emmanuel Faith Center Church in Davisville, Fla.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Aaron Bell her daughter, Patricia Poole; parents, George Mack Walker and LaBertha Riley; four sisters, Margie Hines, Essie Lee Canada, Rose Walker, and Gladys Walker; (2) Brothers, George And Joe Walker.
Mrs. Bell is survived by one son, Willie Charles Lambert of Atmore; nine grandchildren, Michael (Ursula) Lambert of Grand Bay, Ala., Roncheal Lambert and Charles (Natasha) Lambert of Montgomery, Ala., Adriene Lambert and George Poole of Atmore, Kenya (Roderick) Dailey of Lawrenceville, Ga., Nathan Lambert and Jennifer Lambert of Hinesville, Ga. and Jeffery McCants of Snellville, Ga., fifteen great-grandchildren; one Goddaughter, Rhonda (Pastor Wayne) Johnson of Atmore; two special nieces, Brenda Walker and Ester Jett; a special friend, Mattie Hetherington and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, December 16, 2017 at noon at Gaines Chapel AME Church – Atmore with Elder Ledell Johnson, Jr. – eulogist and Rev. Amos Smith – Host Pastor. Interment followed in Fairview Cemetery.

Amara Michelle Riley
Newborn, Amara Michelle Riley, passed away Saturday, December 16, 2017 at USA Children’s & Women’s Hospital in Mobile, Ala.

Faye Victor
Mrs. Faye Victor, age 59, passed away Sunday, December 17, 2017 in Milton, Fla. She was a native and life-long resident of Christian Home. Fla. She was a member of Byrneville Methodist Church.

She was is preceded in death by her parents, Karl and Sarah Victor and two sisters, Alice Merchant and Kathy Hall.

Mrs. Victor is survived by one son, Tim (Veronica) Victor of Christian Home; one daughter, Tiffany (Michael) Segers of Christian Home; four brothers, Phillip Victor of Christian Home, Johnny Victor of Flomaton, Ala., Jimmy Victor of Atmore, Ala. and Donnie (Sandra) Victor of Wawbeek, Ala.; one sister, Janie (Billy Jack) Criswell of Christian Home and seven grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Thursday, December 21, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Chris Hawkins officiating. Burial followed at Christian Home Cemetery.

The family received friends Wednesday, December 20, 2017 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were J.C. Victor, Johnny Victor, Jesse Hall, Justin Long, Lil Joe Mclendon and James Victor.
