Flomaton woman, 19, killed in Friday crash

A 19-year-old Flomaton woman was killed Friday night, Dec. 22, in a single-vehicle accident that eventually involved three vehicles.

According to Florida Highway Patrol reports, Daizee Brooke Angus was driving a 2007 Chevy Impala eastward on Escambia County (Fla.) Road 4A around 8 p.m. when she lost control of the vehicle.

The Flomaton woman’s car reportedly ran off the road. She apparently over-corrected in trying to regain control of the vehicle, which overturned and rolled over “approximately four times” before coming to rest on its roof. Angus, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected and landed in the roadway.

She was subsequently run over by two other drivers, 25-year-old Haley N. Smith of Flomaton and Alton S. Wiggins, 19 of McDavid.

Charges are pending the results of the FHP traffic homicide investigation.
