Tara Renee Dortch

Mrs. Tara Renee Dortch “Lassitter”, age 46, passed away Sunday, November 20, 2022 in Booneville, Ala. She has resided most of her life in Atmore, Ala. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was an avid New Orleans Saints Fan and Alabama Football Fan. She loved spending time shopping, going to the beach, and the creek.

She was preceded in death by her father, Rubert Lassitter and one brother, Ronald W. Lassitter.
Mrs. Dortch is survived by her mother, Eloise Lassitter of Booneville; three daughters, Amy Morris (Cole Thornton) of Chatom, Ala., Cierra Caraway (Derrick Bridges) of Atmore, Dallas (Hunter) Rivers of Calvart, Ala.; two brothers, Matt Henley of Deweyville, Texas, Ray (Diane) Lassitter of Atmore; four sisters, Kristina Nimmo of Ohio, Melanie Cass of Brewton, Ala. Chelsea Wilson of Ohio, Eve Pearson of Atmore; seven grandchildren, Serenity Phillips, Chandler Rivers, Ella Phillips, Rowynn Rivers, Maliyah Phillips, Branson Bridges, Luxton Rivers (unborn); numerous nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at 1 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home, LLC with Rev. Marshall Wall officiating. Burial followed at McCullough Cemetery.
The family received friends Monday, November 28, 2022 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home, LLC.

Pallbearers were Derrick Bridges, Hunter Rivers, Cole Thornton, Matthew Scott, J.C. Flowers, and Gary Watson.

LeRoy Brown

Mr. LeRoy Brown, of Uriah, Ala., passed away Thursday, November 24, 2022 in Mobile Infirmary Hospital in Mobile, Ala.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time but will be announced by Christian Memorial Funeral Home.

Dixie Adams

Funeral services for Dixie Adams of Atmore, Ala., will be held Saturday, December 3, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Mt. Gillard Baptist Church.

Chrissy L. Taylor

Chrissy L. Taylor, of Flomaton, Ala., passed away Saturday, November 26, 2022.

Joann Johnson Jenkins

Mrs. Joann Johnson Jenkins, age 77, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Thursday, November 17, 2022. She was born to the late Clarence and Arstine Johnson. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church of Atmore.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie C. Jenkins, Sr.; two brothers, Clarence Johnson, Jr. and Robert Charles Johnson; five sisters, Alice Watts, Claudette Winston, Dorothy Steele, Brenda Gaskin and Theresa Johnson.

Mrs. Jenkins is survived by five children, Willie C. Jenks, Jr., Stephen (Veronica) Jenkins, Sr. of Pensacola, Fla., Darron (Hope) Jenkins Sr. of Montgomery, Ala., Jeanette Jenkins and Mojay Jenkins of Crestview, Fla.; two brothers, Joseph Johnson and Paul Johnson; one sister, Marietta Banks; grandchildren, Stephen Jenkins, Jr., Darron Jenkins, Jr., Darryel Laster, Charity Jenkins, Jasmine Laster, Janessa and Johnathon; five great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, November 26, 2022 at 11 a.m. at 1712 M.L. King Avenue, Atmore, with Rev. Harold Askew, Pastor/Eulogist. Interment followed in Fairview Cemetery.  Pallbearers and flower bearers were family and friends.

Thomas Whendell Powell

Mr. Thomas Whendell Powell, age 35, passed away Friday, November 25, 2022, in Santa Rosa County, Fla. He was born in Mobile, Ala. and resided most of his life in Century, Fla. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing and hunting. He loved working and tinkering on things and was always willing to help anyone in need.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mollie Campbell Hayes.

Mr. Powell is survived by his loving fiancé, Trista Kent of Century; one son, Damien Powell of Century; two brothers, Cecil Powell of Covington, Ga. and Henry Chris (Angela) Powell of Century; one sister, Amanda Martin of Flomaton, Ala., other relatives, and friends.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at 2 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home, LLC. Burial will follow at Jay Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 30, 2022 from 1 p.m. until service time at 2 p.m. at Petty- Eastside Chapel Funeral Home, LLC.
