Cal Ripken League play set to begin in Sept.

Special to Atmore News

Murray Johnson, director of Atmore’s Cal Ripken Baseball League, issued the following statement Monday, June 8:
“Due to the ongoing COVID-19 threat to the safety of all who would be participating in the Atmore Cal Ripken Baseball League, we will resume the 2020 season the first week of September for all ages, 4 through 12.
“All players who have paid fees for 2020 will have fees waived for 2021, regardless.
“With limiting attendance at games and following strict guidelines, since some of the 12-Under players may play school football in September, we will begin baseball on June 15 for the 12-U players, and after 10 games, play in a tournament July 30-August 1.”
