Arrest made in Dirden murder

Atmore Police Chief Chuck Brooks announced Thursday, June 4, that APD investigators have arrested a local man and charged him with the April 25 death of Desmond Deshun Dirden.

Dirden died on a sidewalk of Patterson Street Apartments after having been stabbed and shot.

Antonio Albert Crenshaw, 38, was arrested by Atmore police Thursday (June 4) and is being held in the Escambia County Detention Center on one count of murder. His bond amount was not immediately known.

Brooks said the arrest was a result of an “extensive investigation” by APD investigators.
