Charles Thomas Brown, Sr.
Mr. Charles Thomas Brown, Sr., age 79, passed away Wednesday, December 25, 2019 at his home in Atmore, Ala. He was a native of Lottie, Ala. and had resided in Atmore for the past twenty years. He retired from Standard Furniture with over fifty three years of service. He was an avid outdoorsman, loving to fish and hunt.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas C. and Lita L. Brown; brother, Donald Brown and sister, Irma Jean Brown.
Mr. Brown is survived by one son, Charles T. (Regina) Brown, Jr. of Bay Minette, Ala.; three daughters, Tonya Brown of Brewton, Lita Gale (Wade) Wilson and Wendy-Rabon Dunn, all of Bay Minette, Ala.; one brother, Roy (Barbara) Brown of Orange Park, Fla.; three sisters, Carolyn Bryant of Somerville, Tenn., Diann Fretwell of Mechanicsville, Md. and Lavern Wasson of Mechanicsville, Md.; eleven grandchildren and twenty-two-great-grandchildren.
Memorial services were held Monday, December 30, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Jim Hill officiating.

Mr. Roger Allen Pastorcich, age 68 of Wilmer, Ala., passed away Friday, December 21, 2019 at his residence. He was a maintenance driver He was born in Baldwin County, Ala. to the late Joseph and Edith Burn Chancery Pastorcich
He served in the Army National Guard.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Nelda Pastorcich; son, Charles
Pastorcich; brothers, Donald, Rodney and Joey Pastorcich.
Mr. Pastorcich is survived by his son, David (Arizona) Pastorcich of Wilmer; daughter, Amanda (Greg) Watson of Eight Mile, Ala.; sister, Carol Pastorcich of Mobile, Al. and seven grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Monday, December 30, 2019 in Pine View Cemetery, Pine View, Ala. with Bro. Charles Fails officiating. Interment followed in Pine View Cemetery.

Audregene “Audrey” Barnes
Ms. Audregene “Audrey” Barnes, age 84, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Saturday, December 21, 2019 in Mobile, Ala. She was born in Dunbar, Penn. to the late James and Margaret Linko Miller. She served in the United States Airforce and was a retired secretary and member of the First Baptist Church of Atmore.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her son Doug Barnes.
Ms. Barnes is survived by her son, Jim (Rebecca) Barnes of Mobile; a sister Donna Buzzelli of Cleveland, Ohio and two nieces Linda Wasilewski and Gloria Buzzelli.
A memorial service was held Saturday, December 28, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. from the First Baptist Church of Atmore with Rev. Arnold Hendrix officiating.

Mrs. Dorothy C. “Dot” Killiam, age 88, passed away Friday, December 20, 2019 in Century, Fla. She was born in Atmore, Ala. to the late Willie Eugene and Hattie Belle English Cunningham. She was a retired secretary from the National Wildlife Federation. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Atmore.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Paul Killiam; brother Thomas “Tommy” Cunningham; sisters, Etta Luveda Shanks, Marvdeen “Deanie” Barrow and Myrtice Voncile Madison.
Mrs. Killiam is survived by her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, great-great nephews, family and friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, December 28, 2019 at 12:30 p.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jason Handley officiating. Interment followed in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Russell Underhill, Hunter McKinley, Mike Barrow, Eddie Dunsford, Greg Legerton, and Kaiden McGhee.

Ms. Josephine Strickland, age 89, of Canoe, Ala., passed away Thursday, December 19, 2019 in Atmore, Ala. She was born in Elmore County, Ala. to the late William L. and Linda Marie Calloway Strickland. She was a graduate of the University of Alabama and a member of Sardis Baptist Church. She was a retired teacher with Escambia County High School.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers and one sister.
Ms. Strickland is survived by her son, Malcolm (Sheryl) Harrelson of Perdido, Ala.; grandchildren, Jessica Bossard and Tonya Loftis.

Mr. Curtis James Knowles, age 67, passed away Thursday, December 26, 2019 in Brewton, Ala.
He was a native of Century, Fla., and former resident of Lafayette, La. and had resided in Flomaton, Ala. for the past thirty-five years. He retired from the oil field as a Tool Pusher with over thirty years of service. He was a member of the 1st Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ of Flomaton.
He was preceded is in death by his parents, Willie James and Fannie Estelle Knowles; two daughters, Kendall Grace Knowles and Carrie Elaine Knowles and two sisters, Bobbie Jean Knowles and Barbara Lord.
Mr. Knowles is survived by his wife of eight years, Angela Renee Knowles of Flomaton; two sons, Kenneth “Ken” (Hallie) Knowles and Bradley Knowles all of Pace, Fla.; one sister, Shirley Petty of Flomaton; six grandchildren, Drew, Sierra, Shawn, Shanelle, Briana and Tyler; six great-grandchildren, Charles, Chasye, Breadon, Greysin, Marshall and Oliver and other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Sunday, December 29, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel with Bro. Jimmy Colley and Bro. Farron Wilson officiating. Burial followed at the Little Escambia Cemetery.

Mrs. Myrtis Euline Hall, age 90, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Friday, December 27, 2019
in Deatsville, Ala. She was a seamstress with Vanity Fair Mills. She was born in Monroe
County, Ala. to the late George Tenerson and Daisy Mae Ledkins Mosley. She was a long time member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
She was preceded by her parents; husband, Riley B. Hall; daughter, Elizabeth
Ann Johnson; grandson, Chris Reynolds; brothers, Edward Mosley and James
Mosley and a sister, Betty Ziglar.
Mrs. Hall is survived by two sons, Edward Johnson and LaDon (Annette) Hall all, of
Atmore; a daughter, Teresa Hall of Navarre, Fla.; a sister, Jewell Holder
of Frisco City, Ala.; six grandchildren and many great-great-grandchildren.

George Walder Scogin
Mr. George Walder Scogin, age 84, passed away December 27, 2019 in Pensacola, Fla. following a long illness. He grew up in Bay Minette, Ala. and graduated from Baldwin County High School where he played football and was senior class president. At age 11, he started working for Thompson’s Fine Fashions and in the mid 1960’s became manager of Thompson’s in Atmore, managing until he retired in the early 1990s. He later worked for Harold Allen Mobile Homes.
He was active in many civic organizations in Atmore, including the Atmore Lions Club, downtown merchants’ association, Atmore Chamber of Commerce and the Jaycees, holding multiple offices for these groups. He attended Woodbine United Methodist Church in Pace, Fla. While in Atmore he was an active member of the First Baptist Church where he taught Sunday school and served as a deacon.
He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-two years, Patsy Ann; his parents, George McLeod and Mertice; a brother, William “Bill” Scogin and a nephew, Billy.
Mr. Scogin is survived by four children, Mike (Johnna) of Georgetown, Ky., Becky Hetrick of Crestview, Fla., Gail (Park) Young of Walnut Hill, Fla. and Cindy (Sean) Harigel of Pace; five grandchildren, Stephen (Ashleigh) Hetrick, Ashley (Thomas) Long, James Scogin, Paxton Davis and Katherine Scogin and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. David Taylor officiating. Burial followed in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Ella Ruth Elliott, age 79, of East Brewton (Boykin Community), Ala., passed away Monday, December 23, 2019 at Westgate Village Nursing Home. She was a native of Brewton attended school in the Boykin Community. She was a member of Greater Mt. Calvary Baptist Church (Boykin Community) where she had served as a Deaconess, Matron, and an Usher. She enjoyed shopping, cooking, growing flowers, and going to church.
Mrs. Elliott is survived by her husband, Eddie Lee Elliott of East Brewton; three daughters, Ester (Dorsey) Stallworth-Williams of California, Tangela (Arizona) Gamble of East Brewton and Valerie Williams of Brewton; two sons, Eddie Lee (Shirley) Elliott and Bob (Bernita) Elliott, all of Brewton; one sister, Annette Jenkins of Detroit, Mich.; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family will receive friends Saturday, January 4, 2020 from noon until funeral service time. Funeral service will be held Saturday, January 4, 2020 @ 2 p.m. at Greater Mt. Mrs. Duane Gunnels Biggs, age 82, of Canoe, Ala., passed away Sunday, December 29, 2019 in Canoe. She was born in Calhoun County, Ala. to the late Vinnie and Irola Gunnels. She was a retired school bus driver from the Escambia County Alabama School System. She was a member of Healing Waters Church in Bay Minette, Ala.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister Helen Willis and a grandson Cory Jones.
Mrs. Biggs is survived by her husband of sixty-two years, Luman Ray Biggs of Canoe and a daughter Felicia (Clarence) Carlton of Canoe; one brother, Billy Ray (Norma) Gunnels of Piedmont. and one sister, Myra Jo Giles, all of Piedmont, Ala.; grandson, Eric Jones and great- grandchildren Kennedy Jones, Dagan Jones, Addison Jones, Madelyn Jones, Garrick Freeze, Rylee Carlton, Reese Carlton, Rowland Carlton.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 2, 2020 at noon at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. John Loper and Bro. Richard Daniels officiating. Graveside services will follow at 2:30 p.m. at the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spanish Fort, Ala.
