Candlelight memorial
For many area residents, the Candlelight Memorial Service at Johnson Quimby Funeral Home has become a tradition during December as candles are lit in memory of loved ones who have passed away. Jayla Wilson’s poem to be published
Special to Atmore News Students at Escambia County Middle School were given the opportunity to participate in the 2019-2020 National Scholar Society’s Poetry Contest. Jayla Wilson’s poem, “What My Family Means To Me,” has been selected to be published in the National Scholar Society’s prestigious annual student anthology, Award-Winning Young Writers of America 2019-2020. Jayla is in the fourth grade at ECMS. Her English Language Arts teacher is Paula Ferguson.…
DAR Good Citizens selected
Special to Atmore News The Fort Mims Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution announces the DAR Good Citizens from three area high schools.
