ECMS create quilt from book study

ECMS Enrichment students with their quilt

Escambia County Middle School’s Enrichment Class read the book Stealing Freedom by Elisa Carbone. The novel study was six weeks long.

One of the class projects was to create a quilt that represented the book. Each student recreated scenes from their favorite parts of the book on blank quilt squares. The students pieced the quilt together and had a member of the Atmore community sew the quilt squares together to create a quilt.

The following students, shown at right, are part of the ECMS Enrichment class, from left, front, Aniya Stots, Xzaiaver Brown, Bryson Williams, Shantel Richardson, and Madison Simmons; back, Sheldon Williams, Willie Walker, Diamond Thames, Racquel Knight, Zahria McCants, and Jakayla Roberts.
