HES honored
Huxford Elementary School was recently selected by Escambia County’s farming family, Joe and Brenda Coker, as a 2017 America’s Farmers Grow Communities winning organization. The America’s Farmers campaign highlights the importance of modern US Agriculture through communications and community outreach programs that partner with farmers to impact Rural America. Flags on Memorial Day
On Saturday, May 27, several Royal Rangers from Liberty Baptist Church in Pineview helped the Atmore VFW Auxiliary place flags on veterans’ graves for Memorial Day. Children left alone when suspect flees
A Brewton man, already the subject of a felony arrest warrant, was further charged with leaving two children alone in the East Brewton house from which he apparently fled to avoid arrest. According to Escambia County Sheriff’s Office reports, deputies were sent to 402 Victory Street shortly after midnight last Wednesday (May 31) to arrest 24-year-old Timothy Tyrone Dees, for whom a felony warrant on unspecified charges had been issued.…
