Reptiles at the library
The summer reading program at the Atmore Public Library hosted Yarbrough’s Educational Reptiles from Oxford, Ala., Friday, June 21. Kids got an up close look at lizards, snakes, an alligator and other reptiles. They could even touch some of the animals if they wanted to. Shown, Briauna Matheny pets a lizard.

Firefighters visit RPES
The Rachel Patterson Elementary School JumpStart and summer school programs were visited by the Atmore Fire Department Thursday, June 20. The firemen spoke to the students about the importance of fire safety and their jobs as firefighters. Of course, students loved the up close look at the fire truck.

Honoring future educators
