Atmore police continued this week their search for two masked bandits who held up the ABC store on North Main Street at gunpoint last week. The heist took place Tuesday, December 12, and Atmore police patrol officers and investigators were notified around 5:49 p.m. that the state owned and operated liquor store had been robbed. Man caught breaking in home
A 31-year-old Atmore man remained in the Escambia County Detention Center, under a $100,000 bond, this week after his November 29 arrest on burglary, theft and drug charges. City looks at new recycle program
With Atmore’s recycling program recently shut down, Mayor Jim Staff and Executive Assistant Celia Lambert have been researching alternatives, including visits to various facilities.
