Billy Glenn Rushing Post 90 of the American Legion announces the following young men and women have been selected to attend the American Legion Boys and Girls State programs at the University of Alabama this year. Boys State takes place from May 25 to 31 while Girls State will take place June 1 to 6.
These are weeklong, unique summer programs that do not rely on lectures and textbook scenarios, but hands-on experience and participation in a model state government.
The 2025 candidates are
- Escambia Academy: Ronta Watson, Brayton McBride and Brilee Handy
- Escambia County High School: Tevin McClain, Amaree Mosley and Trinity Gray
- Flomaton High School: Philip Bell, Colton Rollin, Luke Fore, and Caroline Dove
- W.S. Neal High School: Aaron Addison
- T.R. Miller High School: Kathryn Rambach
We are sure each one of these young people will represent our Post and our communities well. Post 90 thanks the administrators and counselors of each school in supporting these programs.
It’s not too late to donate. Boys and Girls State Chairman Billy Elder is still contacting businesses to offer an opportunity to contribute and help the Post support these programs.
