Charlotte Boyle attended the Alabama Silver Haired Legislature meeting October 1-4 in Montgomery. The ASHL writes resolutions rather than “bills.” When resolutions are finalized and approved, they are forwarded to the Governor, the House and Senate for consideration to be made a bill for passage into law. Stuffed animals for first responders
In September the Atmore Memorial VFW Auxiliary held a stuffed animal drive to distribute animals to first responder agencies to give children in emergency / traumatic situations. Cancer Walk
More than 30 people of all ages took part in the 13th annual Women of Distinction (WOD) Cancer Awareness Walk, held Saturday, October 14. The group walked from Atmore City Hall to Houston Avery Park, and marchers paid $10 each.
