EA takes home a loss at Patrician Academy

After a homecoming win against Pickens Academy on the 6th, the Cougars traveled to Butler, Alabama, to play their last region game of the season against the Patrician Academy Saints.
Cougar captains Quinten Odom, AJ Bennett, and Zeke McElhaney met the Patrician captains at midfield for the coin flip to start the game; the Saints won, receiving during the first half.
After several turnovers, the Saints put the first points on board with a 30-yard carry to the end zone. The kick was good, putting the Saints up 7-0.
The Saints added, once again with a 40-yard carry to the end zone; the good kick gave the Saints a 14-point lead.
The Saints scored again with a 30-yard carry into the end zone; the kick was blocked by the Cougars, leaving their lead to 20-0.
Patrician scored again 5 minutes into the second quarter with a 3-yard carry into the end zone followed by a successful 2-point conversion for a score of 28-0.
The Cougars put themselves on the board with a 10-yard pass from Keller Coston to Odom; the 2-point conversion was unsuccessful, leaving the score 28-6.
The Saints scored once again with a 10-yard carry for the touchdown with a minute and a half left before the half. The 2-point conversion was blocked by the Cougars, leaving the Saints up at 34-6.
The Saints got another touchdown with a minute and a half left in the third quarter with a 5-yard carry. The 2-point conversion was successful, putting them up 42-6.
The Cougars scored their second touchdown after Yadarius McNeil made a 5-yard carry for the end zone; Cameran Bryan was successful in the 2-point conversion, bringing the score to a closer 42-14.
Next week, the Cougars will be home once again to play the South Choctaw Academy Rebels of Toxey, Alabama. Tickets will be available at the gate, and the game will be also be livestreamed on EA’s Facebook and YouTube pages, so be sure to tune in if you cannot make it!
