Locals jailed on felony drug charges

The following Atmore residents were arrested by various agencies and booked into the Escambia County Detention Center on felony drug charges during the period July 3-5:

  • Phillip Miles Fullerton, 36, was arrested July 3 by Escambia County Sheriff’s Office deputies.
    Fullerton remained in the county jail Monday afternoon, July 10, charged with one count each of possession of a controlled substance, third-degree criminal trespass and possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • Brewton police arrested 52-year-old Darrin Forrest Smith of Atmore July 3 on one count each of possession of a controlled substance, second-degree possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving under the influence of a controlled substance.
    The arrest marked the 13th time since 2010 that Smith has been booked into the facility, mostly on alcohol- or drug-related charges and violation of probation and conditional release. He was freed July 3 on bond.
  • An Atmore woman, 29-year-old Alexus Marie Lee, was arrested July 4 by Atmore police.
    Lee, who is charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance, was released from the county jail on bond Wednesday, July 5.
  • Thirty-five-year-old Joshua Anthony Gonzalez of Atmore was arrested July 4 by Poarch Creek Indians police.
    Gonzalez is charged with one count each of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He remained in the county jail Monday afternoon, July 10.
