An 18-year-old Atmore man was arrested November 7 in connection with shots that were fired into a local residence in October.
The incident occurred on October 20, around 1:50 p.m., at a house in the 100 block of Crow Street. Atmore police were sent to the residence in reference to shots being fired into it.
APD officers arrived to discover several spent shell casings, believed to have been fired from a handgun, in the street in front of the residence.
There were no injuries to anyone in the house, and there were no witnesses present at the scene.
Investigators were able to obtain evidence that Layton Frye was at the scene during the incident, and he was taken into custody after denying he was there.
Frye was processed into the Escambia County Detention Center, where he remained Tuesday, November 15.
APD Sgt. Darrell McMann said the case remains open and additional arrests are possible.
