Patricia “Patti” Diane Helton

Helton

Mrs. Patricia “Patti” Diane Helton, age 57, passed away Thursday, October 27, 2022, in Atmore, Ala. She was born in Tuscaloosa, Ala. and resided in Flomaton, Ala. until moving to Atmore for the past 21 years. She was a member of Beulah Chapel Assembly of God Church, and an active member of Household of Faith Ministries.

She loved her dogs, enjoyed going swimming and taking care of her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marce (Peggy Chavers) Allen and one step-son, Randall Helton.

Mrs. Helton is survived by her loving husband of nineteen years, Rex Helton of Atmore; one son, PO1 Willie Owens III of Chesapeake, Va.; two daughters, Farron Barrow and Morgan Scott, both of Atmore; two brothers, Mike Allen of Bratt, Fla. and Tony Allen of Orlando, Fla.; one sister, Linda Green of Bratt, Fla.; four grandchildren, Adelaide Barrow, Madelyn Pruett, Madison Pruett, Kaylee Pruett; other relatives and friends.

Graveside service will be held Thursday, November 3, 2022 at 1 p.m. at Robinsonville Cemetery with Rev. Phil Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Robinsonville Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday, November 3, 2022 from Noon until service time at 1 p.m. at Robinsonville Baptist Church.

Pallbearers will be Landon Helton, Willie Owens III, Ray Owens, Nate Scott, Christopher Haag, and Randall Blair.

Louise Ann Long

Long

Mrs. Louise Ann Long, age 87, passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2022, in Pensacola, Fla. She resided most of her life in Canoe, Ala. and a member of Corinth Baptist Church. She retired from Standard Furniture with many years of service. She was a very hard-working southern lady, who really enjoyed cooking and canning vegetables. She also enjoyed going to church and getting together with all the family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas (Carrie Snow) Harrison; husband, Joe Long; one son, Andy Long; two brothers, Charles Harrison, Mark Harrison and one sister, Lou Ella Emmons.

Mrs. Long is survived by her two sons, Scotty Long and Jerry (Christine) Long, all of Canoe; one daughter, Jo Ann Long (Tem Moye) of Jay, Fla.; one sister, Nell House of Pensacola; four grandchildren, Thomas Long, Richard Long, Melody Boutwell, Douglas Rebel; seven great-grandchildren, Triston, Cameron, Alyssa, Aleigha, Logan, Mary Jane, Deanna; one great-great- grandchild, Derrick and other relatives.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, November 5, 2022, at 2 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home, LLC. with Bro. Gene Freeland officiating. Burial will follow at Canoe Freewill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Saturday, November 5, 2022 from 1 p.m. until service at 2 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home, LLC.

Pallbearers will be Thomas Long, Triston Long and Cameron Long.

Mary H. Lindquist 

Lindquist

Mrs. Mary H. Lindquist, age 92, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at her residence. She was born in Chumuckla, Fla, to Osey and Dora Enfinger Hale. She enjoyed traveling and eating her vegetables. She was an avid shopper and a vivid storyteller. She loved her family with a passion. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Robert “Sweede” Lindquist; her brothers, Elmer Hale, Carl Hale and Duke Hale and her sister, Velda Stalvey. 

Mrs. Lindquist is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends along with her lifelong friend, Hazel Spiers. 

Funeral services will be held Friday, November 4, 2022 at Noon at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel in Atmore with Bro. Robert Harrison officiating. Interment will follow in Elizabeth Chapel Cemetery in Chumuckla. 

The family will receive friends Friday, November 4, 2022 from 1l a.m. until service time at Noon at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home. 

Active pallbearers will be Matthew Robinson, Derek Smith, Brent Culwell, Ronnie Johnson, Willie Williams and Kevin Dunlap.

Betty Jean Ward

Mrs. Betty Jean Ward, age 91, of Atlanta, Ga., formerly of Atmore, Ala., passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2022, surrounded by her son and husband. She was born in Oak Grove, Fla.  She moved with her family to Walnut Hill, Fla. as a youngster. She was an educator and delighted students, teachers and parents for forty years. She and Jack relocated to Atlanta living with their son until her death. 

She was preceded in death by both of her parents, Brady Redford Steele and Nanie Beasley Steele; her two brothers, Alton Redford Steele and Ronald Wayne Steele and her son, Gregory Clark Ward. 

Mrs. Ward is survived by her husband, Clark Hill Ward; her daughter, Kathryn Ward Ochoa; her son, Jason Steele Ward; three grandchildren, Heather Ashley Feller, Heath Edward Harrison and Jordan Steele Spaulding; six great-grandchildren, Zachary Wayne Feller, Makenzie Kathryn Feller, Madison Hill Feller, Haleigh Elizabeth Harrison, Gregory Crosby Harrison, Ryleigh Austyn Harrison and one great-great-grandchild, Stokley Hill Feller. 

Funeral services will be held Monday, November 7, 2022 at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Atmore, 310 South Main Street, Atmore. Interment will follow at Walnut Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, 5741 Arthur Brown Road, McDavid, Fla. 32568. 

The family will receive friends Monday, November 7, 2022 from Noon until service time at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Atmore.

Ronald W. Lassitter

Lassitter

Mr. Ronald W. Lassitter, age 66, passed away Sunday, November 6, 2022 at his home in Booneville, Ala. He was a lifelong resident of Booneville and retired from building homes for many years. He was an avid Alabama Football Fan, and enjoyed riding motorcycles. He enjoyed hunting, spending time on the houseboat and river fishing.

He was preceded in death by his father, Rubert Ray Lassitter.

Mr. Lassitter is survived by his mother, Elouise Lassitter of Booneville; loving wife of thirty-three years, Taffy Lassitter of Booneville; two sons, Jason (Jennifer) Lassitter of Rabun, Ala. and Blake Perry (Charity Hacker) of Bay Minette, Ala.; two daughters, Ashley Lassitter (Clay Davis) of Foley, Ala. and Somer Lassitter of Atmore, Ala.; one brother Ray (Diane) Lassitter of Nokomis, Ala,; five grandchildren, Parker Lassitter, Jace Lassitter, Ronni-Claire Johnson, Lexie McKenzie, Khaleesi Davis; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 10, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home, LLC. with Rev. Marshall Wall and Rev. Don Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Judson Creek Indian Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 9, 2022 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home, LLC.

Pallbearers will be Larry Paul, Donnie Smith, Robert Emmons, Matt Cox, Chris Dunn, and Tommy Morrow.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Kelly, Bruce Vickery, Mike Vickery, Jordan Tolbert, and Matthew Scott.

Mr. Alfreco Lett, age 50, of Century, Fla., passed away Sunday, November 6, 2022 as a result of a car accident in Flomaton, Ala.

Mr. Brandin Jackson Jones, age 28, of Evergreen, Ala., passed away Thursday, November 3, 2022 at home.
