Ball honors breast cancer victims

The Legendary Queens held their third annual breast cancer event Saturday evening, October 22. This year’s event was a ball held at the Walnut Hill Community Center.
The ladies honored breast cancer survivors as well as those who have lost their battle.
Organized by Katrice Tucker, the Shades of Pink Breast Cancer Ball was true to its name – with pink decorations and attendees dressed in pink. Of course, pink is the color of breast cancer.
Survivors honored are Mary Arnold, Mia Gaines, Tiffany Gulley, Bessie Hill, Qwen Norris, Tongia Tucker, Terri Walker, Sheritha Williams. Bessie Hill served as the 2021-22 Queen. Saturday night, Mary Arnold was crowned the 2022-23 Queen.
Those who have passed away are Loretta McCants, Irene Thomas, Dot McAroy, and Jasmine Smith.
