Maddie Brickett of Yarbrough’s Educational Reptiles brought her “friends” to the Atmore Public Library Friday, June 24, for the last session of the summer reading program. Kids enjoyed learning about snakes, turtles, alligators, and lizards. And some even enjoyed handling a huge python.

American Legion Post 90 Chaplain Jack Wright celebrated his 93rd birthday last week at the Legion hall. Adjutant Paul Chason said, Jack celebrated “93 years of wisdom.”

Pastor Rickey Tedder at New Life Assembly challenged the church to raise $1,000 or more for the Women’s Resource Center in Atmore. The church responded and raised a little more than the goal.
