Daniel Lee Milstid

Milstid

Mr. Daniel Lee Milstid, age 49, of Perdido, Ala., passed away Friday, December 17, 2021. He was born in Fallbrook, Calif. to Guy L. and Linda Faye Presley Milstid. He served in the United States Army as a helicopter mechanic.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Mark Anthony Milstid. 

Mr. Milstid is survived by his parents, Guy and Linda Milstid of Perdido, Ala. and Rodney (Theresa) Milstid of Folkston, Ga. along with many nieces, nephews, family and friends. 

Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 23, 2021 at 1 p.m. at Pine Grove Freewill Baptist Church in Perdido with Bro. Malcolm Harrelson officiating. Interment will follow at Pine Grove Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery. 

Pallbearers will be Ross Presley, Phillip Presley, John Glenn Hall, Charles Rice, Billy Rice, Christopher Rice, Oscar Powell and Michael Milstid. 

The family will receive friends Thursday, December 23, 2021 from noon until service time at 1p.m. at Pine Grove Freewill Baptist Church.

Carolyn Conway Phillips

Mrs. Carolyn Conway Phillips, age 57, of Uriah, Ala., passed away Monday, December 20, 2021.  She was born in Atmore, Ala. to Russell and Mary Inloes Conway. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Jerry Conway and two grandchildren, Sarah Grace Boutwell and James Robert Turberville, Jr. 

Mrs. Phillips is survived by her husband, Jimmy Phillips of Uriah; her daughters, Crystal (Trevor) Borders of Blythe, Ga., Maggie Nichole “Nickie” (James Robert “Robbie”) Turberville of Huxford, Ala. and Sarah Michelle “Shell Bell” Phillips of Uriah; her brothers, Ralph Wayne (Jennifer) Conway and David Eugene Conway, all of McCullough, Ala.; her sisters, Rebecca Jean Conway and Diane (James) Johnson of McCullough along with her five grandchildren, Jason, Abby, Kara Lynn, Andrew and Benton. 

Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 23, 2021 at 10 a.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel.  Interment will follow at McCullough Cemetery. 

The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 22, 2021 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.

Margaret Nell Green Johnson

Ms. Margaret Nell Green Johnson, age 78, of Stockton, Ala., passed away Monday, December 20, 2021.  She was born in Packards Bend, Ala. to Lewis Fred and Annie Bradford Green. She retired from Vanity Fair and was a charter member of West End Baptist Church. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Lesley F. Green and James Wesley Green; her sisters, Sadie L. Chunn, Annie Laura Welch, Edith Hetherington, Jessie Lee Jay, Martha Griffin and Della Jane Chunn. 

Ms. Johnson is survived by her son, Randy (Pam) Johnson of Stockton, Ala.; her daughter, Rhonda (James) English of Brewton, Ala.; her brother, Lewis Green of Rocky Hill, Ala.; her sister, Frances Brown of Frisco City, Ala.; her grandchildren, Kevin (Rebecca) Johnson, Amber Loutisia English, Ryan (Sarah) Johnson, Kenneth Bradford English; her great-grandchildren, Brooke Johnson, Madison Johnson and Macey Johnson along with her three great-great- grandchildren. 

Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 23, 2021 at 2:30 p.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Allen Chace officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. 

Active pallbearers will be Kenneth Bradford English, Ryan Johnson, Kevin Johnson, Ken Brown, James English and Allen Jay.

Ernest Dean Rolin Sr.

Mr. Ernest Dean Rolin Sr., age 72, passed away Saturday, December 18, 2021 in Atmore, Ala. He has resided in Atmore most of his life. He was a retired truck driver with many years on the road. He loved Alabama Football, and riding motorcycles. He was a proud member of Poarch Band of Creek Indians.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene Buster (Bessie Mooneyham) Rolin; two brothers, Donnie Rolin and Harvey Rolin, and one nephew, Bradley Rolin.

Mr. Rolin is survived by his loving wife of seventeen years, Tina Rolin, of Atmore; three sons, Ernest Dean Rolin Jr., Nikolas McBride and Niko Godwin, all of Poarch, Ala.; four daughters, Tammy (Mike) Gaffney and Jacquline Rolin, all of Atmore, Keiana McBride of Perdido, Ala. and Niyah Godwin, of Poarch; eight brothers, Roy Rolin, Kenneth Wayne “Radio” Rolin, Johnny Mack Rolin, Shawn (Stephanie) Rolin, Aubrey (Natasha) Rolin, all of Poarch and Deno (Necole) Rolin of Lottie, Ala., Walter Lee (Anita) Rolin of Gulf Shores, Ala., Anthony (Jennifer) Rolin, of Bratt, Fla.; four sisters, Peggy Couch, Virginia Godwin and Dianna Rolin, all of Poarch and Tonya Jordan, of Atmore; four grandchildren, Blake Pearson, Tatum Lee, Maggie Gaffney, Darren Stacey; seven great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be held Monday, December 27, 2021 at 2 p.m. at McCullough Christian Center with Rev. Johnny Stabler and Bro. Walter Lee Rolin officiating. Burial will follow at Judson Creek Indian Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Sunday December 26, 2021, from 6 p.m. until 9 a.m. on December 27, 2021 at Poarch Community Church.

Pallbearers will be Shawn Rolin, Roy Rolin, Deno Rolin, Trenton Rayborn, Anthony Jordan, and James Wilson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Eddie Jackson, Kelvin Williams, Wayne Williams, Jerry Sells, Julius Sells, Cleo McCants, and Odell McGhee.

Ann Judson Walton Waller

Mrs. Ann Judson Walton Waller, age 88, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Tuesday, December 21, 2021. She was born in Notasulga, Ala. to the late Dr. and Mrs. Wilbur L. Walton, Sr. She was a 1950 graduate of Murphy High School and attended Huntington College before transferring to Alabama Polytechnic Institute (now Auburn University) graduating in 1954. At API, she was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta Social Sorority. During her many years in Atmore, Ann became a gifted school teacher at Bratt Elementary School until her retirement in 1970. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Atmore, American Cancer Society, the United Fund, Atmore Junior Service League and various civic activities of the City of Atmore, including the formation of “The Rap House”.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hal Knox Waller, Jr. (Hal); her son, Hal Knox Waller, III (Knox); her grandson, Randell Gordon Nichols, Jr. (Gordon); and her parents. Mrs. Waller is survived by her daughter, Melissa Ann Waller Nichols (Randell, Sr.) of Atmore; her granddaughter, Ann Walton Knox Nichols (Walton) of Atmore; her brother, Wilbur L. Walton, Jr. (Bubba) of Dothan; and her Goddaughter, Dale Matthews Ash of Atmore. 
A graveside service will be held Thursday, December 23, 2021 at 4 p.m. at Oak Hill
Cemetery in Atmore. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Randell G. Nichols.

Joe E. McKinley

Mr. Joe E. McKinley, age 69, of Mobile, Ala., passed away Tuesday, December 21, 2021.  He was born in Alexandria, Va. to Joe Eddie McKinley and Bernice Jones McKinley Hilburn. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and his stepfather, David (Buddy) Hilburn. 

Mr. Joe E. McKinley is survived by his sons, Scott (Jenniffer) McKinley of Vocation, Ala., Steve (Nichole) McKinley of Uriah, Ala. and Nicholas (Ashley) McKinley of Saraland, Ala.; eight grandchildren, Clay (Hannah) McKinley, Kori McKinley, Zach McKinley, Emily McKinley, Trenton McKinley, Kylee McKinley, Colton Beech and Bailey McKinley; one great grandchild, Evie McKinley; two brothers, Charles (Wanda) Hilburn, Sr. and Glenn (Dawn) Hilburn; three sisters, Wanda (Lonnie) Carlisle, Brenda (Robert) Wilkerson and Diane (Thomas) Shepard along with nine nephews, two nieces, eleven great-nephews and eight great-nieces. 

Graveside memorial services will be scheduled at a later date.

Steve Luman Wilson

Steve Luman Wilson, 62 of Barrineau Park, FL. passed away December 24, 2021 at his home in Barrineau Park surrounded by his wife and their two children. He was born in Pensacola, FL. on February 7, 1959. He was a heavy equipment mechanic for Escambia County Florida Roads and Bridges. He is preceded in death by his father Luman Edward Wilson, step father Alfred O’Connor and a special nephew Dalton Wilson.

He is survived by his wife of over 42 years Hazel Smith Wilson, daughter; Stephanie (Kenny) Lewis, son; Luman (April) Wilson; four grandchildren Austin (Shelby) Lewis, Tyler Wilson, Cooper Lewis, Jayce Wilson all of Barrineau Park, FL and his mother; Liddie O’Connor. He is also survived by his brother; Tim (Lisa) Wilson of Barrineau Park, FL; sisters; Marilyn Stone of Barrineau Park, FL; Evelyn (Buddy) Bethea of Walnut Hill, FL; Paula (Sammy) Thomley of Perdido, AL; Lisa (Randy) Newton of Pensacola, FL; numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

A Celebration of life service will be held Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at 3:30 PM at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Fred Stallworth officiating.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 28, 2021 from 2:30 PM until service time at 3:30 PM at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.

Ruby Earline Jernigan

Mrs. Ruby Earline Jernigan, age 64, of Atmore, Ala.; passed away Wednesday, December 22, 202l in her family’s care in Calhoun, Ga. after a long battle with cancer.

She is preceded in death by her husband of twenty- nine years, James Levon (Buddy) Jernigan.
Mrs. Jernigan is survived by her two sons, Jim (Charlotte) Jernigan, of Calhoun, and  Joseph Busby; one sister, Martha (Jack) Hall; one brother, Louis (Melissa) Screw;, seven grandchildren; one great- grandchild, numerus nieces, and nephews.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Petty- Eastside Chapel Funeral Home LLC. Burial will follow at Godwin Cemetery beside her husband.

Jack Euel Presley, Jr

Mr. Jack Euel Presley, Jr., age 73, of Bay Minette, Ala., passed away Tuesday, December 21, 2021. He was born in Atmore, Ala., to Jack Euel Presley, Sr. and Bernice Coon Presley. He worked at Masland Carpets for many years and was also employed with the United States Postal Service as a mail carrier until he retired. He was known as everyone’s small engine mechanic. He was preceded in death by his parents. 

Mr. Presley is survived by his son, Jason (Ashley) Presley of Clanton, Ala.; his daughters, Jamie (Jamie) Boatwright of Perdido, Ala., Lynn Presley of Bay Minette, Ala., Jan Presley of Cantonment and Jenna Presley of Clanton; his sister, Ann Hammock of Pensacola, Fla.; nine grandchildren along with many friends family. 

A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 1, 2022 at 10 a.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home with Sis. Helen Stewart officiating.

Frances C. Abrams Hershman

Frances C. Abrams Hershman, age 78, of Lillian, Ala., passed away on Saturday, December 25, 2021. She was born in Century, Fla. to Johnny W. Abrams, Sr. and Beulah “Bessie” Conway Abrams. She retired from the United States Government Civil Service after many dedicated years. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Betty Ann Adams. 

Ms. Hershman is survived by her daughter, Michelle Hershman of Lillian; her brother, Johnny W. (Kitty) Abrams of Wawbeek, Ala. and her sister, Mary Elizabeth Hale of Atmore, Ala. 

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery in Wawbeek with Bro. Robert Bradley officiating. Interment will follow at Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery.

Vera Theresa Barlow

Vera Theresa Barlow, age 65, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Wednesday, December 22 2021. She was born to Walter and Bessie Barlow, the youngest of her brothers and sisters. She was an amazingly kind and selfless woman who loved everyone in her life and would gladly give anyone anything they needed if she could.

She was preceded in death by her parents and twelve siblings. 

Vera Barlow is survived her by son, John (Crystal) Oakes of Knoxville, Tenn. and daughter Michelle (Travis) Flowers of Uriah, Ala.; grandchildren, Theresa (Labon) Turk, Austin Flowers and Mason Flowers, all of Uriah, Amber (Logan) Boatwright of Atmore; great-grandchildren, Castiel and Rowan Turk of Uriah and Kennedy and Rhett Turk of Atmore; six siblings, Walter “Tobe” (Bobbie) Barlow Jr of Shepherd, Texas, Margaret Ann (Larson) Bryars of Perdido, Ala., Judy Rathsack of Atmore, Donald Barlow and Debbie Barlow, both of Nokomis, Fla., and Frank “Dunky” (Shirley) Barlow of Nokomis, Ala.

A Celebration of Life will be held for her at Johnson Quimby Funeral Home at 4 p.m. on January 17, 2022.
