Perdido now 2-0

Special to Atmore News

The Perdido Raiders shut out the Summerdale Panthers 20-0 in their second game of the season, September 3, giving them a 2-0 record so far.
Quarterback Hayden Coley threw for an impressive 124 yards overall, leading to 3 touchdowns. Two of those touchdowns were made by Destin Wallace who racked up a total of 92 yards running in the passes from Coley.
Coen Lambeth drove in another of the passing touchdowns from Coley, knocking aside anyone who stood in his way. The audience roared for Roan Branum as he made huge runs downfield, totaling 81 yards. Lane Roberts also rushed for 10 yards on 2 attempts. Often it seemed like Branum was dragging the whole opponent team behind him before he was brought down.
The Raider defense was steady as a rock, refusing any attempt to get past them. On the sidelines, one could see head coach Vincent Coley bellowing play calls and inspiring the players alongside assistant coaches Josh Overstreet, Chad Lambeth, and Judd Coley.
Once again, this sound victory could only have been achieved thanks to the generous support of the team parents and the Perdido School community.
