The Greater Escambia Center for the Arts will hold auditions for “The Sound of Music” at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 12.
There will be roles for children 5 and up through senior adults. Each person wishing to audition must come prepared to sing 16 bars of a song, their choice, accompanied. No unaccompanied auditions allowed. You may use a track or bring sheet music for GECA’s live accompanist to play for you.
The audition will also consist of a dance portion, to be taught at the audition and a cold read from the script.
Kids wishing to be considered for the VonTrapp Children or adults wishing to be a part of the Nun’s Chorus will need to be able to demonstrate the ability to sing in harmony.
Show dates are set for August 19-29 with a total of 8 shows scheduled.
