Atmore News will be closed Friday
Since it’s hard for us to be closed on a Monday, the Atmore News office will be closed Friday, May 28, in observance of Memorial Day. We’ll be open Monday, May 31, and we hope to see you at the Memorial Day program at city hall that morning.
Play ball! Fire department vs. police department
This Saturday, the AFD Plug Uglies will face off against the APD Road Runners in the Battle of the Badges Charity Softball Game. Teams are playing to raise money for The Forgotten Initiative which is an organization that works with and for foster families and children. Every dollar raised goes directly to the people this great organization works for.
The game will be held Saturday, May 29, 5 p.m., Tom Byrne Park. Adult tickets are $5. Kids 12 and under get in free. Concessions will be available.
Town hall
Congressman Jerry Carl will hold an in-person town hall in Atmore Wednesday, June 2, 11 a.m. until noon, Atmore City Hall, 201 E Louisville Avenue.
