Walker seeks re-election

Walker

Note: The following announcement was submitted by the candidate.

Hello Citizens of Atmore,
I, Chris Walker, announce my candidacy for re-election as Atmore City Councilman District #3. It has been a blessing to be able to serve the people of our beloved City for the past 12 years. During this time, our community has faced challenges, but none quite like the issues that we currently face. The ongoing pandemic has changed our lives in a manner that we would never have expected. Hopefully, over the past few months of “safe at home”, we all have had time to reflect on those things that are most important to us. Together, as a community, we can and will make it through these difficult times. I fully intend to continue to work to enhance the community and the lives of the citizens within it. To do this, I feel that it is necessary to be accessible, transparent and engaging in any and all activities that promote the uplifting of our citizens. I will continue to work diligently with the Mayor and other members of the council to improve our community through job creation, revitalization, beautification, elevation of social services and increased community awareness.
Born and raised in Atmore, I have lived and worked here for the last 20+ years. I have 3 amazing, adult children of whom I am very proud. They are currently pursuing their careers as follows: Keshonda , 35, of Davenport, Florida is Senior Manager of Consulting Services for a consulting firm; Christopher, 28, also of Davenport, Florida is a High School teacher and coach for the Polk County School system and Davontae, 24, of Santa Clara, California is a software engineer for Google.
I am running for re-election because I love Atmore and the district in which I live. My experience, leadership, education, military service and financial background, uniquely qualify me to best serve the citizens of Atmore. In the coming pre-election weeks, I will be using social media as a platform to address many subjects of interest to the community. I invite you as citizens to engage, ask questions and chime in as the narrative ensues. With that being said, I humbly ask that the citizens of district #3 cast their vote for Chris Walker, Atmore City Council on August 26, 2020. Your vote is your voice! Get out and vote! God Bless you one and all.
