Construction began recently on the new city parking lot at the corner of Ridgeley and Trammell streets. The lot, which will serve the north end of downtown Atmore, will feature 10-foot spacing to allow more room between the cars parked there. The work is being done by crews from Poarch Band of Creek Indians. No target date has been set for completion of the project.

The Chamber’s first Market in the Park of the season was held Saturday, June 13, at Heritage Park. Vendors brought fresh produce as well as canned goods, plants, art and much more. The next Market is set for Saturday, June 27, beginning at 7:30 a.m.

Registrations for the 2nd session of swimming and diving lessons was held Monday, June 15, at the Tom Byrne Park Pool. Lessons will be June 22 to July 10 with classes being at 9, 10 and 11. These classes will meet Monday through Friday for one hour each. Afternoon lessons will be during the same time frame with classes being 5:20, 5:50 and 6:20 on Tuesday and Thursday nights. These…
