Dr. Bernard and Felicia Bishop with Destiny Worship Center in Atmore will host their 13th Annual Senior Citizens Appreciation Day this Saturday, November 23. There is a time change this year with the evening beginning and 5 p.m. and ending at 7 p.m. DWC is located at 50 West Sunset Drive, Atmore.
Favorite activities will be held again this year including cake walk, Name That Tune with old school music, Bible trivia, and entertainment by a host of local talent.
In addition, there will be information on Medicare and Medicaid, a wellness survey and blood pressure check, and healthy exercises.
The event, free to everyone 60 and older, will include a meal, gifts for all, door prizes and cash door prizes.
If you need to ride to and from the event, call 251-577-2635 or 251-577-1430, and transportation will be provided.
You may adopt a senior citizen by donating a fleece throw for the event. Dr. Bishop said if there is an excess of throws, they will be donated to the Meadows and Atmore Nursing Center.
