Veterans Day programs planned

Perdido Elementary School

The students, faculty and staff of Perdido Elementary / Middle School invite veterans and their immediate families to a Veterans Day celebration Wednesday. November 6, 8:30 a.m., in the school gym.

This year’s program will feature a special guest speaker, the Baldwin County High School JROTC Flag and rifle Drill Teams, and the Peridido Middle School Band.

There will be a reception immediately following the program in the cafeteria.

The dress is casual.

Northview High School

Northview High School will have its annual Veterans Day program on Thursday, Nov., 7 November 2019 in the school’s theater. There will be two programs with the first program starting at 9:30 a..m. The second program will start shortly after the first program at approximately 10:30 a.m.

The guest speaker will be Mr. Tyler Reeves, a US Army veteran who served as a Fire Support Specialist/Forward Observer. He completed his basic training at Fort Jackson, S.C. and AIT training at Fort Sill, Okla. His final duty station was Fort Lewis  in Tacoma, Wash. He has continued his service to his country and the community as a world history teacher and coach at Northview High School.

The community is invited to attend. Light refreshments will be served.

Atmore VFW Auxiliary

The Atmore VFW Auxiliary will hold their annual Veterans Day Breakfast on Veterans Day, November 11, 7 a.m. to 10 a.m., Anchor Café, 211 Trammell Street. All veterans eat free. No veteran organization affiliation is necessary.

City of Atmore

The city’s annual Veterans Day observance will be held on Tuesday, November 12, immediately following that day’s city council meeting. The program is expected to start around 4:30 p.m. in the council chambers.
