Six people — both drivers and four passengers — were injured in a two-vehicle collision that happened Sunday night, September 22, on Alabama 21, just north of town and inside the city limits.
According to Alabama State Troopers, a 2011 Kia driven by Kameran J.D. Bogan of Atmore was southbound on Alabama 21 and attempting to make a left turn onto West Sunset Drive.
As Bogan made the turn, the Kia was struck by a northbound 2010 Honda driven by Amdreia L. Young, also of Atmore,
The crash occurred around 7:45 p.m. at the intersection of the state highway and Sunset Drive and blocked the highway’s northbound lanes for about an hour as emergency medical personnel from Atmore Fire Department treated the injured.
City police officers diverted traffic and secured the scene until state troopers arrived to conduct the crash investigation.
State trooper reports show that both drivers were injured in the crash. A passenger in Bogan’s car, Daliyah Walker, was also hurt. Three passengers in Young’s car — Shannon Young, Kaela Young and Jaylen Young — suffered injuries, too. The extent of the injuries was not known by Tuesday’s press deadline.
Troopers did not provide ages for any of the individuals involved.
