Special to Atmore News

Atmore’s downtown revitalization efforts by the Pride of Atmore received a big boost from Tiger-Sul Products with their recent financial pledge of $15,000 toward the renovation of the historic Strand Theater and adjacent hardware building.
Pride of Atmore executive director Foster Kizer acknowledged the donation by presenting Tiger-Sul’s Chris Harrison with a commemorative plaque.
Restoration funds for the revitalization project will be used to upgrade, renovate and repair the Strand’s facade, mechanical systems, lobby, roof, and interior to once again host theatrical stage performances, live concerts and movies.
Built in 1898, the former Atmore Hardware Store will undergo a complete renovation as well to be transformed into a multi-use cultural arts and music venue returning vibrancy to Main Street as part of revitalizing the downtown community.
