CACC’s Hussey guest speaker at Lions Club

Steven Hussey displays a rendering of the Strand

The Atmore Lions Club met March 20 in the Mayson Auditorium at Atmore Community Hospital.
Lion Candace Wooten presided and Chuck Brooks gave the invocation. Fourteen members and two guests were present.
Members were informed of the LCIF raffle and getting tickets from Candace as well as being reminded about the golf tournament coming up in May.
Lion Richard Maxwell introduced Steven Hussey from Coastal Alabama Community College who spoke on programs available in technology at the school, including visual effects and animation. Lion Judd Coley was “volunteered” by Hussey to be a model for an animated character. After being strapped and hooked up to Hussey’s equipment, members enjoyed the laughter which Coley’s movements elicited on the projection screen.
Hussey also showed a scene of the Strand Theatre in Atmore which was made using technology, not photography, to show what the remodeled building might look like.
