Special to Atmore News

Gamma Omega Chapter of The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International held its March meeting on March 14 in the conference room of Atmore News.
Heather Caraway gave the devotional, after which a short business meeting was held. It was announced that Alabama State President Teresa Noell will be the organization’s guest at the November 14 meeting.
The program was titled “Feeding Our Hungry Children When They Go Home After School” and included a trip to the offices of Atmore Area Christian Care Ministry on Highway 31. Joe Hall and his wife Lauri gave a wonderful presentation on the history of the ministry, where food and money comes from, and the process of distributing food to those who qualify. Members had brought dry food items for the pantry and were invited into the actual pantry to see how it was organized. Plans are to make this a project of Gamma Omega for the next year.
Members present were Jessica White, Nancy Karrick, Joanne Bonds, Heather Caraway, and Sherry Digmon.
