VFW Auxiliary helping women veterans

News Staff Report

Members of the Atmore Memorial VFW Auxiliary are hoping you will help them help the Women’s Health Program at Birmingham VA Medical Center.
This Saturday, March 16, the Auxiliary is hosting a “Mommy & Me” baby shower, a program which provides pregnant female veterans with baby items at no cost. You are invited to drop off items at the baby shower collection site, Atmore News, 128 S. Main Street, from 10 a.m. until noon.
The Auxiliary is collecting diapers, diaper rash ointment, baby wipes, baby lotion, baby shampoo / wash, baby combs and brushes, pacifiers, sippy cups and bottles, blankets, baby clothes (onesies, socks, etc.), car seats, and high chairs. New items only please.
The Birmingham VA Medical Center offers a variety of health services to meet the needs of our nation’s veterans. Women Veteran Program Managers are available to assist women veterans and coordinate services. Women veterans who are interested in receiving care at VA should contact the nearest VA Medical Center.
All items collected will be donated to the Women’s Health Program at Birmingham VA Medical Center.
