Josh Frye joined the Atmore News staff Monday, January 21.
Frye brings a wealth of interests and experience to the paper.
A graduate of Escambia County High School, he studied Military History, Underwater Archaeology, Film at the University of West Florida; history at Faulkner Community College; and attended fire college.
He has worked at Strata Productions Film Company, as an assistant archivist at Baldwin County Archives, a firefighter, and a reporter. Frye often works on projects with and for National Geographic and Smithsonian.
In addition to providing history and other articles of local interest, he’ll also fill a void on the News staff.
“Josh brings a new spurt of energy and excitement to our staff,” Atmore News co-owner Myrna Monroe said. “We’ve been lacking in sports coverage, so he’ll be the new man you see at the sports events and will be bringing the play-by-play commentary to our pages.”
Frye is married to the former Keesha O’Barr. They live in Poarch.
