Teams sponsored by PHD Realty, Popeyes and Maxwell Construction took the top three places in the 2018 Atmore Lions Club Charity Golf Tournament, played March 16 at Atmore Country Club.
The PHD team — Chad Helton, Shane Burkett, Keith McKinley and Caleb Dortch — shot an impressive 52 to claim first place and its $500 prize.
The Popeyes foursome of Elliott Faircloth, RP Phillips, Jared Vickteg and Kevin Bohanan took second place with a 55, just three shots off the win, and pocketed $200, while Maxwell Construction’s team of Chapman Maxwell, Rob Faircloth, Dan Brown and Paul Speegle shot a 58 to claim third place and a $100 check.
Taylor Lee, who organized the event, and Lions Club President Judd Coley presented the checks to the winning teams.
Six teams finished within three shots of the money.

Bay Minette Lions Club (65) — Larry Brasier, Buddy Wilson, Kody Rollin, Scotty Langham.
Poarch Creek Indians (71) — Jen Chism, Billy Hunt, Mal McGhee, Matt Martin.
Also, Caleb Dortch won the prize for launching a shot that landed closest to the pin, and Kevin Bohanan took home the prize for the longest drive.
The golfers enjoyed a lunch of fried catfish, hushpuppies, slaw and drinks, furnished by David’s Catfish House, and the winners of a silent auction and raffle were announced and awarded prizes. Several door prizes were also handed out.
