Local reenactors and history fans converged on Wawbeek Saturday February 3, for the fourth annual Wawbeek Living History sponsored by Marietta Johnson, the 15th Confederate Cavalry Company C and the Sons of Confederate Veterans. The Escambia Academy basketball squad’s dream of an AISA Class AA state championship ended Monday (February 5) in Montgomery, when top-ranked Macon East won its second straight title with a 67-42 decision over the foul-plagued Cougars. NJHS back at ECMS – 30 students inducted into national junior honor society
Thirty Escambia County Middle School students added a new chapter to the school’s history on February 5 when they became members of the National Junior Honor Society. The induction ceremony, conducted in the school gym, marked the resumption of the school’s NJHS chapter after a year’s hiatus. Members of Perdido Middle School’s Scholars Bowl team are off to as great start, winning all three of their first three matches.
