Escambia County Superintendent of Education released the following: All Escambia County Public Schools (Alabama) will be closed Wednesday, January 17, 2018, due to a severe winter weather advisory.  A decision will be made tomorrow about school for Thursday. Officials with Alabama Power have issued a warning that the company’s customers are the latest targets of phone scammers who try to bilk them out of their money.
