The Advisory Committee of the Atmore Community Foundation will host an information meeting regarding a grant opportunity for local organizations. The meeting will take place January 5, at noon in the Atmore Chamber of Commerce located at 137 North Main St.
Earlier this month, the Atmore Community Foundation announced its first competitive grant cycle for local nonprofits. Nonprofits who submit a request will be reviewed carefully by the committee, and grants will be awarded to those which most strategically align with the Foundation’s 2017-2018 priority areas: Education and Health and Wellness.
The Atmore Community Foundation was founded in April 2017 as an affiliate of The Community Foundation of South Alabama. It serves as a vehicle to receive donations and bequests to benefit the local community. Through concerted grant-making, the Atmore Community Foundation Fund was created to give the local leaders in Atmore an opportunity to make a difference in their hometown. With access to the Foundation’s financial and administrative services, these funds have the potential to make a long lasting impact on the town’s local economy, health and wellbeing.
Nonprofits interested in submitting a request for a grant must submit an application at the Foundation’s website at https://communityfoundationsa.org/login. The deadline for the application is January 18, 2018 by 11:59 p.m. CT.
