CACC welding program wins sculpture contest

The sculpture was displayed at the awards presentation.

Three students from the welding program on the Atmore Campus of Coastal Alabama Community College won first place in a sculpture contest at the Central Gulf Industrial Alliance (CGIA) General Membership Meeting and 10th Anniversary Celebration held on November 1.

The students involved in building the sculptured sea turtle were Lee Boggs, Travious English, and Michael Smith. The three students will share $250, and the Atmore Campus welding program will also receive $250.

Many industry leaders, along with other CGIA members, voted on the sculptures. All contest entries were submitted by endorsed CGIA training programs.
