United Bank announces promotions

United Bank’s President and CEO Robert R. Jones, III recently announced the promotion of several bank officers. The officers and their new positions are:

•Amber Stokes, Mortgage Loan Officer
•Carolyn Crane, Senior Vice President
•Denise Fuqua, Assistant Loan Operations Officer
•John Eringman, Vice President
•Wes Young, Senior Vice President

“We are pleased to announce the promotions of these officers.” Jones said. “Their influence here at United Bank inspires greatness in many. I want to congratulate them on their outstanding professional leadership and well-deserved promotions.”

Amber Stokes, Mortgage Loan Officer, joined United Bank in March of 2007 and is responsible for mortgage lending in Escambia and surrounding counties. Stokes attended Pensacola State College and is a graduate of the Dale Carnegie Program. Stokes brings more than 10 years banking experience from previous roles at United Bank ranging from branch specialist to personal banker. She is past treasurer for the Flomaton Little League Association in addition to her coaching leadership role. Stokes works with UB in Atmore.

Carolyn Crane, Senior Consumer Credit Officer, joined United Bank in October of 1985 and is responsible for loan approval oversight primarily for 1-4 family and consumer loans. Crane earned a General Banking Degree from the American Bankers Association and is a graduate of both Alabama Banking School and Leadership Atmore. She is a current charter member and treasurer of the Bay Minette Lions Club. She is past board member of the Atmore Chamber of Commerce and Atmore Rotary. She is past president and member of the Atmore United Fund. Previously, she served on the Jefferson Davis Community College Advisory Board, volunteered with Pink Lady Auxiliary and participated in America’s Promise Program along with several initiatives with both the American Heart Association and American Cancer Society. Crane works with UB in Bay Minette.

Denise Fuqua, Assistant Loan Operations Officer, joined United Bank in June of 2004 and is responsible for the supervision of the Loan Documentation Specialist group. Fuqua earned an Associate Degree of Science from Alabama Southern Community College. An outstanding student, Fuqua graduated Magna Cum Laude with further courses of study in both business law and accounting. In 2014, she attended the Alabama Bankers Association Lending Institute. With more than 18 years banking experience, 13 of which are vested from her tenure with United, Fuqua is a key team player in HMDA data reporting, lending processes and regulations. Throughout the year, she expands her skills and talents attending several workshops and webinars with respected membership trade associations. In 2012, Fuqua was honored with United Bank President’s Award, recognizing her as Employee of the Year. Fuqua works with UB in Atmore.

John R. Eringman Jr., Credit Analyst, joined the bank in January of 2007 and is responsible for analysis of credits for bank officers. Eringman earned an Associate’s degree from Faulkner University. Furthering his studies, he received both a Bachelor of Finance and Management degree with minor studies in Accounting and Marketing from the University of South Alabama. In addition, he is a graduate of Alabama Banking School. He previously served in the Ambassador program with the Central Baldwin Chamber of Commerce, leading him to hold positions on both their Executive Board and Board of Directors. Eringman works with UB in Loxley.

Wes Young, General Counsel, joined the bank in January of 2016 and is responsible for the wide array of the organization’s day-to-day legal needs, in addition to managing relationships with outside counsel when necessary. Young is a southwest Alabama native and received a B.S. in International Business from Auburn and his J.D. from Texas Tech School of Law. Prior to joining United in 2016, he was in private practice as a commercial litigator. He also serves as a Lieutenant Commander in the Navy JAG Corps. Young works with UB in Atmore.
