Band concerts coming up
The Escambia County High School Band Spring Concert will be held Thursday, April 20, 7 p.m., in the old gym at the school. Band director Hayley Cockrell announced that world famous composer Stephen Melillo is coming to Escambia County to work with band students. Legion honors Norris
American Legion Post 90 honored Raymond Norris at the post’s meeting Tuesday, April 11, for his 60 years of membership. Norris, 98, was an Army Air Corps mechanic during World War II. He is the third member of Post 90 to achieve 60-year membership. Haskew Middleton (73 years) and Jack Wright (61 years in June) are the others. Pride of Atmore begins new initiative – Yard of the Month to be recognized
The Board of Directors of Pride of Atmore announces the creation of the Yard of the Month award program to show their appreciation and to recognize those homeowners who demonstrate superior effort in maintaining their property, and who, as a result, positively contribute to the overall appearance of Atmore. ACH Auxiliary offers scholarship
Atmore Community Hospital Auxiliary is offering scholarships to individuals pursuing studies in a medical-related field. Students must be currently enrolled in a healthcare program and must have completed at least one year at an accredited school. Graduate students will also be considered.
