Comfort Care Hospice is sponsoring an Alzheimer’s support group at Atmore Nursing Center. The first meeting was held Thursday, January 5. Meetings will be held every first Thursday of the month at 4 p.m., at ANC, with the next meeting set for February 4. Caregivers may join the meetings at any time.

Sandra Clements, LBSW, Comfort Care, is conducting the support group and welcomes caregivers who want emotional support and education.
Caring for someone with Alzheimer’s is not an easy task. Being part of a support group may help you with coping skills as well as make you aware of resources that may be available.

At the first meeting, Clements was joined by several members of the Atmore Nursing Center staff – Amy Fuqua, Social Service Assistant; Teresa Harper, Admissions / Social Services; Lisa Phillips, LBSW, Social Services Director; Morgan Smith, Assistant Administrator. However, Clements will be conducting the support group meetings.
